Join us on-campus this Welcome Week to get the best start to your studies, meet your peer mentor and fellow peers and celebrate the start of semester!  

 

  • Faculty Welcome: Meet the Dean, Deputy Dean, your teachers, your mentor group, and a mentor who will help you settle into the Business School. 
  • Lunch: Enjoy a light BBQ lunch while you get to know your fellow peers.
  • Academic Major Information Booths: Get academic advice regarding your major/minor choices and degree structure.  
  • Opportunities Expo: Learn more about our student clubs and societies, exchange programs, industry experience opportunities, support services and more!
  • Information Sessions:
    - Find out how to gain experience in industry while studying through our Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Programs.
    - Access career support dedicated to Business School students through our Careers and Employability Office (CEO).
    - Learn more about Job Smart, our employability program for international students.
  • Dalyell Program: Meet your Dalyell Program Manager and find out what you can expect as part of the Dalyell Program (this session is for Dalyell Scholars only).

Celebration event: Welcoming international students to Sydney for over a century

All students are invited to join us on campus to celebrate more than 100 years of welcoming international students to the University of Sydney. 

Over a century ago, we welcomed the first international students to our community. Since then, students from around the world continue to choose our University, building our rich and diverse community on campus as well as our global, active alumni networks.

Sponsored by the Vice-Chancellor, this special event includes a range of activities to celebrate international students at the University:

  • Free BBQ lunch and other food and drinks
  • Attend a workshop and contribute to an Indigenous painting
  • Watch performances from student society ethnocultural dance groups
  • Try calligraphy and learn about language options with the School of Languages and Cultures
  • Ride a mechanical surfboard 
  • Explore international cuisines from a range of food trucks
  • Visit the USU markets 
  • Speak to SUSF and learn about the Student World Cup 
  • Chat with Student Life, SRC, SUPRA, Sydney Future Students and Alumni about support and opportunities

A range of staff, including the Vice-Chancellor, will also be in attendance to celebrate our global community.

Charity Barbie Movie Screening

To the Barbies and Kens,

SUWIE invites you all to our very own Barbie screening at the Dendy Cinemas Newtown 🎀🎀

The event will take place on Monday the 14th of August.

We will meet at 4.30pm at PNR (J02) to scan tickets and walk to the cinema.

The movie will start at 5.30pm at the Dendy in Newtown.

Once the movie has ended, we invite you to join us at the Newtown Hotel at 7.30pm to enjoy pizza and other yummy snacks.

And the best part is… it’s all free 🤭🤭

Cultural Exchange at Chau Chak Wing Museum

Join us for a guided tour around Chau Chak Museum! 🏛️

An expert guide will take you on a 90-minute adventure through exhibitions, from visual arts to natural history, Mediterranean antiquities to Indigenous culture, and scientific instruments to historic photography.
