This is an afternoon opportunity to meet North Queensland based grassroots organisation Girringun Aboriginal Corporation and get to know more about their involvement with Service Learning in Indigenous Communities (SLIC). SLIC is an Industry and Community Project focused on working with different First Nations communities and embedding Aboriginal world views beyond the boundaries of the University campus.
SLIC has been working with Girringun this year on issues like Queensland's Path to Treaty, Biodiversity and Native Plant Nursery, Ranger Program, and Traditional Use of Marine Agreement to name a few. Yarn with Girringun on how students can work collaboratively with Indigenous communities and respect country during the process.

Undergraduate Degree Planning Session | Date: Thursday 25 July 2024, 10.30am - 12.00pm --- Planning your degree is vital to ensuring you meet all the requirements for award of your degree and maximise your access to the exciting opportunities available to you during your studies. This session will equip you with the knowledge and skills to plan your degree, allow you time to draft a degree plan that can be reviewed by staff present, and teach you of the many interesting and valuable opportunities that can contribute towards your degree. Please note that this session is appropriate for students commencing a Bachelor of Commerce, a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Advanced Studies, or a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws in the Business School.
