Welcome Ceremony

Welcome Ceremony

Welcome to the University of Sydney.

The Welcome Ceremony is the University’s official Welcome for all students.

Held in the prestigious Great Hall, it will feature a Smoking Ceremony, Welcome to Country and official Welcome from the Vice Chancellor. The commencement address will be provided by distinguished alumnus and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Strategy and Services), Professor Reuben Bolt.   You will also hear from your student leaders and presidents of student organisations.

Come along for Welcome Breakfast in front of the Great Hall from 8:30.

Please note that Great Hall capacity is limited - we encourage you to arrive early to get a seat. If you are unable to be seated inside the Great Hall, we invite you to join us at the viewing stage set up outside the Hall on the Front Lawns, where the event will be livestreamed. This event will be recorded and/or photographed.
