Beginning the Juris Doctor (JD) full-time is an exciting step. Many students come into the JD from different study backgrounds or professional pathways, while others are returning to university after time away. This welcome is designed to help you settle in, meet other JD students, and understand how to make the most of your time at Sydney Law School. The focus sits on connection, practical guidance, and starting your degree feeling prepared and supported.

This welcome focuses on connection and belonging, while recognising the experience many JD students bring with them.

You will:

• Meet other full-time JD students and start building peer connections
• Hear from current JD students about managing study alongside work and life commitments
• Receive a welcome from senior Law School staff, including the Head of School and Dean
• Enjoy light refreshments at our mini-expo

The program uses short sessions and time is built in for conversation, questions, and settling in.
