International students can face a range of challenges after arriving in Australia. For example, they are more likely to be targeted by rental scammers and face unfair work conditions.  Therefore, knowing the rules and knowing your rights isn’t just helpful — it’s essential for staying safe and confident throughout your time here.  

 

In this workshop led by the Peer Support Advisors (PSAs), we will be discussing:  

• Tenancy rights and common rental issues, including how to spot and avoid rental scams  

• Awareness of modern slavery, including exploitation in casual jobs 

• Beach safety 

• Where to get support 

 

We’ll also be joined by a special guest speaker and finish off the session by enjoying afternoon tea together.
