#3 - How to.....get started at USyd: Understanding academic culture and support services

Starting university in a new country can feel very different from high school or previous study. You may notice new expectations around participation, critical thinking, and communicating with tutors.

In this workshop led by the Peer Support Advisors (PSAs), we will explore the essentials together:

  • Understanding independent learning and active participation

  • Navigating group work and common collaboration challenges

  • Exploring freedom of expression and academic expectations

  • Accessing support services including the Learning Hub, PASS, and PSAs

We’ll also be joined by a special guest speaker from the Learning Hub and finish off the session by enjoying afternoon tea together.
