How to...get started at USyd: Understanding academic culture and support services

What, are there no final exams? Are there group projects? What’s a WAM — is it GPA?

Starting university in a new country often comes with a lot of unexpected questions. You might be wondering how the academic system works, what’s expected of you, and who you can turn to for help when things get overwhelming.

In this workshop, we’ll explore the essentials together:

  • Understanding and comparing academic systems
  • Navigating student services — including Safer Communities, Counselling, and SUPRA
